About Joanna Gamper Cuthbert
Squad Safe consultancy is Joanna Gamper Cuthbert.
Joanna is a freelance consultant offering safeguarding and child protection training, policy writing and consultancy for teams, gyms/studios, and competition event providers.
Joanna is a trained dancer and former cheerleading athlete, head coach and programme owner.
As a founding trustee of charity ParaCheer International she was instrumental in helping develop the Adaptive Abilities division for the sport of cheerleading.
In 2017, Joanna led Team England ParaCheer to their first Gold medal at the ICU World Cheerleading Championships.
Joanna is Chair of the Board at SportCheer England, the National Governing Body for Cheerleading in England.
Joanna spent 15 years working extensively as an education manager for dance companies and conservatoires in the UK; including Trinity LABAN, delivering continuing professional development to dance practitioners, and creating projects and resources for youth dance.
She has 12 years’ experience as a safeguarding lead for various dance and cheerleading organisations, delivering their in-house child protection training.
Joanna is a qualified Designated Safeguarding Officer (NSPCC trained) as well as holding various other safeguarding qualifications, such as Safeguarding in Sport and Keeping Children Safe Online. She also holds a Level 2 Health and Safety qualification from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
